Strip me; strip it all the way…

11 Sep

Natasha Bedingfield never ceases to amaze me. Strip Me is the perfect follow-up to Touch. As most of her productions, it’s a very upbeat, happy-go-lucky track. It exudes the same feel-good vibe that made everyone love Unwritten, These Words or Pocketful of Sunshine.

In spite of its name, the song has zero sexual connotations. It was produced by Ryan Tedder (Battlefield, Halo and Apologize) so it’s pretty epic and Disney-like.

I’m only one voice in a million but you ain’t taking that from me.

Waka Waka – Bad Bad

18 May

I love Shakira. I mean, she’s like my personal muse. She’s one of the artists I respect the most. Not only she’s a great writer, producer and singer but she’s also one of the smartest women on Earth. To me, she embodies perfection. So, with all the pain in my heart, I have to admit Waka Waka (featuring Freshlyground) –the official World Cup Anthem– is bad; as in really bad. But it’s Shakira so Shakira-bad is better than Average-good.

So, here it is… Let’s hope a good producer remixes this song and makes it sound less like a Disney soundtrack. The lyrics are nice, corny-nice, but nice in the end. I’m kind of disappointed, though… I guess Hips Don’t Lie is an unrepeatable masterpiece.
