I’m so bored in this town, take me away from here

Robyn’s None of Dem (featuring Röyksopp) is one hell of a massive tune. It’s a mid tempo Sexy Bitch meets Alice in Wonderland –the classic book, not Tim Burton’s cinematic massacre–.

By the way, am I the only one who thinks of a creepy Asian movie hopscotch rhyme when that little girl sings in the chorus?

“Step away, step away, a-way, sail away”.

Kelly Rowland commands you to dance

17 May

Kelly Rowland’s Commander is a weak attempt at striking another When Love Takes Over. She didn’t nail it. At all. Guetta produced it so this means there are a few blissful moments that any other good DJ can rescue: thank God for remixes. The Sheik Tribal Fix Mix does the song a better justice.

Now I command you to DANCE.

Just in case, here’s the Original Edit -produced by Guetta-. It’s worth a listen (just one, no more than that).

“When Love Takes Over” – David Guetta featuring Kelly Rowland

10 Sep

When words fall short to describe when love takes over, only music can express that special moment which fades all troubles away and makes everything else drop into place. Many try to represent that magical feeling through art but fail in their attempts. “When Love Takes Over” by David Guetta closely emulates reality. This is the kind of tune which makes you wonder if life should imitate art or art imitate life? Which one takes the soul to deeper levels of contemplation? Definitely, what’s truly beautiful is invisible to the eyes and deaf to the ears… Anyhow, “When Love Takes Over” takes a good shot at the real deal.
